Ksheera dhara Ayurvedic Treatment
This Dhara treatment is done with milk (Ksheera) and thus it is called ‘Ksheeradhara’. Under this process cow’s milk or buffalo’s milk is used, where various herbs are added to make the milk completely medicinal. It is regarded as an important therapy among Kerala special Ayurvedic treatments. If Ksheeradhara done for the head alone is called Shirodhara, if for the whole body except the head, it is called as Sarvangadhara. At the first step, a medicinal oil is applied on the head then warm medicated milk is poured from a certain height in a rhythmic manner to the specific area and is rubbed into the body to treat the ailment.
